Speak Your Truth

In this week’s episode, I talk about silencing myself to avoid an uncomfortable conversation with my husband. 

For many years I didn’t say what was on my mind. Keeping things to myself was something I learned to do in my childhood. If I told my parents what I was thinking or feeling, I was told I was talking back. 

Fast forward to being in a relationship with my high school boyfriend, and I did the same thing. I kept everything bottled up because if I said anything it was twisted and used against me. I was always in the wrong and the one that was the problem.

I was allowing this pattern to show up in my marriage when it would be time to have tough conversations with my husband about needing help or wanting time for myself.
